The hurdles are less often and we are working on the planning phase. The other phase is boxing, packing, sorting and writing on the box is underway.
Hello all! Things are in motion. Dene and I are once again doing “divide and conquer.” He is going to keep track of the propane project, transfer of services; while I work on paint and remodel tweaks. Met with Gary who will assist us with our kitchen. I refuse to gut the kitchen. But new drawer glides will be a great help. Met with the granite guys for a quote and picked out the slab, as there is blue tile and formica counter tops. This is a small kitchen and praying for my first choice to be enough stone. Estimates first. Haven’t spent money on sink fixtures or light fixtures or even the Gas cooktop.
Just today we met the Propane guy to get that estimate. Run the line with lots of “T” and plan for additions. Like gas log fireplace will happen after our current home sells, and gas hot water heater someday. We were blessed to discover this house has an electric furnace! Most of the houses here have these heat pump devices and we don’t like them. Some day when / if something breaks, we can switch to a gas furnace. The other blessing was an RO water system! Didn’t notice it on the first couple trips - then I spotted a second water faucet on the sink! For those who don’t live here, San Angelo’s water is not great. The added filtration will be welcomed.
We are scheduled to close July 31st. We will take cleaning supplies and painting supplies over that day. And meet the lock smith! I am hoping to paint, clean and be getting the first big load over perhaps as quick as August 5th or 6th. Filling boxes of things we aren’t using. Books are being packed and more. Then, while we are getting our house sold, we will finish emptying it.
When closing has occurred, I will share pictures and such. Until then, someone else owns it and it is not yet vacant. Privacy issues…….
My art supplies are getting packed up. I can easily do my watercolor projects, but even my big canvas of the Winery in Italy is on hold. I did some of the wet drippy acrylic paint in the garage and wiped up the floor. A last hurrah for awhile.
When I am done for the day - dreaming my new art studio. It can’t be built until after our current house sells. But I can DREAM! A cost effective “shop” will be constructed. I am hoping we can do roughly 30 x 40 ft. Whether that is a steel building, or stick built - I don’t know.
Pencil and graph paper will be next. Looking at some of the cabinet photos that are available. I know I want and need a FLAT FILE or Map File for my watercolor sheets. An Art Supply store named Cheap Joes went out of business and I bought a lot of paper as it was like half the going rate. If you live in San Angelo and know where one is, please let me know. God willing, I hope to have additional storage, a paint and create space and a Gallery area. Wish me luck!
May I invite you to sign up and support my dream? I would love to have you follow the build and come to an Art Studio Open House!
Hey Debra. I did a quick search on FaceBook marketplace for art or map flat files. Nothing in San Angelo. There was one in Weatherford and this one in Conroe. Not helpful unless you had a road trip already planned. Best wishes on your move. I know it is stressful. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CTowzUzDo/
